About Us

AsiaConnect is an association of Illinois State University faculty and staff and Bloomington-Normal community members who work together in the interest of the Asian community. Our purpose is to:

• Promote the various cultures of the Asian community to Illinois State and the Bloomington/Normal community
• Represent the interests, needs, and concerns of Asian faculty, staff, and students
• Promote communication and support among the Asian community
• Develop cooperative relationships in the academic community and with student organizations
• Assist the University with the recruitment and retention of Asian faculty, staff, and students

AsiaConnect welcomes all Asian/Asian American groups, including the heritages of South Asians, Southeast Asians, East Asians, Central Asians, Pacific Islanders, and others, both on campus and in the community. Our goal is to foster an inclusive space where diverse Asian cultures and those who celebrate them can connect and grow together. We welcome everyone, regardless of background, who is interested in learning about, appreciating, and supporting Asian cultures and communities.
